Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The texts are in accordance with the article template; single-spaced; uses an 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. Please send quality copies of the pictures as an attachment for printing. If the size of the sent file is too large, the system may not receive it. In such cases, you can divide the article and send the other parts as an additional file, one by one.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. Turkish Management Review (TMR) is published twice a year, in June and December.
  2. The publication languages ​​of the journal are Turkish and English.
  3. In the article acceptance process, the entire publication process is followed by using the TMR online system available at www.turmr.com.
  4. Articles should be between 3500-9000 words excluding extended abstracts. Articles that are shorter or longer than the specified range will not be considered. The Extended Summary section should consist of 750-1000 words. Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words in total.
  5. The articles submitted to the journal must be original and not previously published elsewhere or the publication process is not in progress.
  6. After the articles are first reviewed by the editors for compliance with the spelling rules, they are directed to at least two referees. While the articles that both referees report positively are ready for publication, if both referees report negative, the article is rejected. If one of the referees is positive and the other is negative, the article is sent to a third referee. According to the report from the third referee, it is decided whether the article will be published or not.
  7. All articles must have a Turkish and English title, a Turkish Abstract of 150-200 words, and an English ABSTRACT. A sufficient number of (minimum 3 and maximum 5) keywords describing the article should be specified under the abstract. Abstracts in Turkish and English should cover the purpose, method and outcome of the study.
  8. An extended summary must be included at the end of candidate articles. The English “Extended Summary” section should be placed at the end of Turkish articles, and the Turkish “Extended Summary” section should be placed at the end of English articles. There should be no subtitles in the Extended Summary section. The Extended Summary section should provide readers with information about the entire study (research purpose, method, findings and results, etc.). The Extended Summary section should start on a new page and consist of 750-1000 words. This part should be carefully written in terms of grammar, expression and scope. It should be noted that this section will represent the international dimension of the journal and the article.
  9. For the papers presented at scientific meetings such as symposiums, congresses, and congresses to be published in the journal, a maximum of 3 years must have passed since the date they were presented.
  10. It is expected that at least one year (at least two issues) will pass after the published article for an author whose article has been published to be able to publish an article again in the journal.
  11. Research articles must be submitted with a plagiarism report before being uploaded to the journal. The plagiarism or similarity rate of the articles must be 25% or less. The similarity rate from a plagiarist or similar source should not exceed 3%.
  12. While uploading the articles to the system, a total of 4 (four) documents must be uploaded:
  • Article file (in Microsoft Word format according to the template)
  • Ethics committee report/Declaration form stating that there is no need for ethics committee permission
  • Plagiarism or similarity report (Max. 20%)
  • Copyright transfer form
  1. Ethics committee report is mandatory for all candidate articles. While the candidate article is uploaded to the system, the ethics committee report must be uploaded to the system. For candidate articles that do not require ethics committee approval, the author's declaration form should be uploaded to the system, signed and scanned by the responsible author.
  2. It is highly recommended to create a video summary for research in TMR and to introduce the research in the authors' own words (For details, see the Video Abstract Guide) and is preferred.

Book Reviews

Book Review Writing Rules

A book presentation should be a critical evaluation of a work, not just a summary. If the author disagrees with the book, he should state, and indicate the sample aspects or deficiencies of the book, or if he agrees with the book author, he should express it. The author who promotes the book should address the contribution of the publication to the world of science, whether the sources he used are sufficient or not.

Book review author,

  • Explain why the book is worth reading,
  • If it brings a new approach, it should examine the methods used by the author,
  • It should clearly state the purpose of the author in his book,
    If the author of the book review makes a positive or negative comment, he should explain it with exemplary reasons,
  • The author should always maintain objectivity and avoid personal comments,
  • Book review texts should be between 1500-3000 words,
  • The cover page of the work in which the review is made must be attached to the article.
  • Title information should include the name of the work promoted or reviewed, its author, the city and publisher it was published in, the year of publication, the number of pages and the ISBN number. The name and surname of the author should be left-justified and an explanation mark should be placed under the title information and the author information should be given under the page. The cover photo of the book should be placed on the first page.
