Sustainable Development Goals, Responsible Production, Responsible ConsumptionAbstract
Sustainable development and sustainable production are not merely a reflex aimed at reducing environmental damage. They also represent a fundamental paradigm shift that ensures the long-term resilience of the global economy. This study focuses on the principles, dimensions, and processes of sustainable production and addresses the challenges involved. The framework of the study is formed by Goal 12, Responsible Production and Consumption, of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The targets under this goal and the application examples of companies that have been engaged in activities related to these targets in Türkiye are examined. When the practices are evaluated collectively, SDG 12.6, which encourages companies to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycles, is seen as one of Türkiye's strongest areas. In addition, significant progress has been made in the areas of Circular Economy and Waste Management (SDGs 12.4 and 12.5) and Sustainability in Tourism (SDG 12.b).
